About Me
Hi! My name is Rhonda.
I love Jesus, my husband, my kids, and the rest of my family and friends. I have been married to my goofy, fun-loving, hard-working husband for 25 years.
On Moosehead Lake in Maine attending the wedding of the daughter of our good friends.
We have three amazing kids-a daughter and a son who are young adults out living on their own and a teenage daughter (they do not appreciate having pictures posted of them so I am being a good mom and respecting their privacy. Even though I am wildly proud of them and wish I could show them off!)
We have a small menagerie in our home which includes:
2 female miniature red poodles, Maggie and Rosie
A cat who doesn’t know what her name is (but usually responds to a loud “KITTY!” when she is being naughty)
And our oldest daughter’s cat Ellie is in the mix too. She is a very sweet and loving girl but she does have a weird BIG TOE FETISH…I do NOT recommend being around her with bare feet!
And, despite much begging and gnashing of teeth over the last 20 years, I steadfastly drew the line at rodents and reptiles, birds and bunnies…
But I digress. I went to nursing school straight out of high school, did several different types of nursing, and loved every minute (well, most minutes) of it. Eighteen years after graduating from college, I followed a dream and entered grad school for Marriage and Family Therapy. It took almost six grueling years but I obtained my degree and have been loving most minutes of doing therapy also. I currently work part-time as a therapist at a small private practice and am being supervised toward obtaining state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I also work part-time as a nurse at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I feel incredibly blessed to enjoy both jobs and have lovely co-workers.
I enjoy shopping, reading, walking, Pilates, crocheting, canning/preserving, photography (especially beach and sunset photos; I’m in my HAPPY PLACE if I am experiencing both at the same time!), and hanging out with family and friends. Coffee is yummy and I am all about everything pumpkin spice. All year long.
I also enjoy writing and was recently challenged to record my thoughts as I process all I am learning about myself, people, doing therapy, and how best to serve God and love people as I balance home life and work. And so, a blog was born. My goal for the blog is to inspire myself and each person who visits to use the gifts and abilities God has bestowed on us to be able to love Him and others better. Thanks for checking out my blog, I hope you are encouraged and challenged! Feel free to visit the contact page if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions.
